    Kirin Building, located in the busy section of western Shanghai, has a total height of 108.88 meters. It is a high class office building using steel construction, which has two floors of basementtwenty two floors high. The total site area it takes is 964 square metersthe total floor area of the building is 24,911 square meters.
    The main structure of the tower is composed of surrounded steel frame structurereinforced concrete cylindrical core body as mixed structure. The surrounded frames are made of steel columnssteel girders. Their cross sectional area of columns becomes smaller from the bottom to the top. The longest column is 12 meter longthe biggest member weighs 14 tons, while the largest span length of the girder is 15.7 metersweighs 8.68 tons with equal cross section size. The welding method of flanges connected to steel columnsgirders all use the CJP (complete joint),to connect the web plate with high-tensile strength torque control bolts. For this building itself, it is made of 2,400 tons of steels, 30,000 sets of high-strength bolts, 40,000 shear studs18,000 square meters of floor deck.
    Safety issue is our main concern, starting from the piling step, it had continued to exist in our mind with the progress of building construction. It is still of vital importance to strictly follow GB/ISO-9000other international standardstheir quality manual, even we have accumulated vast experience in construction. For instance, when constructing the Kirin Building, we not only checked the components on their appearance, size, screw holesfriction surface, but also preparedcalibrated all the measurement toolsstandards. Before welding work, processes such as welding materials double testswelding procedure evaluation, welders certification before doing their work. During the whole erection work of steel structure, multiple measurement work has been applied continuously in correct sequence, enabling the quality of the project under good management all the time.
    The construction area becomes remarkably limitedsmall in down town city of Shanghai, where every piece of land is so valuable. Furthermore, appropriate arrangement for workers, machinesa perfect teamwork become very important when the schedule is tight. In this construction site with busy traffic in nearby area, where no enough stocking space available, it become necessary to make good plan to delivery material in time to the worker to install, in this project the civil worksteel structure erection both have to use the same ST70/27 model crane for complex handling of floor decks, hydroelectric power, core cylinder simultaneously during the project execution, it reflect Hua Yin’s capability in terms of making good control of site orderthe schedule in such working environment.
    The construction time of Kirin Building is less than a year; it also met all the technical requirements of drawingnorms such as the accuracy of erection, bolt holes alignment precisionthe acceptability rate of welding quality. The project had won the 2004 Chinese golden steel award. Our heavy steel workshopcapacity has also been made available, with the success of various projects in light steel area. These achievements all contribute to consolidate our position in Today’s steel construction industrymarket in Chinathe world.
